Schools in Tiruchi commenced the school year on Monday after the summer break. On the first day, teachers welcomed children warmly. In nearly all government, aided and private its in the district, students were greeted with flowers and sweets, making it a festive atmosphere.
Textbooks, notebooks and stationery were given to pupils in all government schools. Additionally Class VI learners were issued an atlas as well. Students received exercise books that helped them review what they had learned during the preceding year. Within one month uniforms and shoes will be distributed.
Beforehand there had been cleaning of schools and repairs done on them since it was after a long time kids come back to school after ending their holidays for over one month.
