Fans of the film Son of Sardaar have yet another reason to celebrate as Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn are all ready to come together for the sequel to the film: Son of Sardaar 2. However, after Dutt’s visa issue arose at the beginning and caused concern that Dutt may not be able to make it, it has now been made clear that the actor will be in Punjab with Devgn in October. Bhaskar recently reported that this subjective news has delighted the fans, who were very keen on enjoying the formers now’ later respectively close to the screen once again.
A different storyline with new characters
Most movies, or their sequels for that matter, would bask on their predecessors’ glory and pick up from where it left off. Son of Sardaar 2 will however be a different kettle of fish. It is a standalone film with no past connection to the film but guarantees the same level of excitement and humour. It has been said that Sanjay Dutt will portray a Vasooli Bhai type character and there will be a heavy influence of Bihari and Punjabi don’s gangster who feud. The role of original taken by Ravi Kishan which was later given to Vijay Raaz will now be done by Sanjay Mishra, a versatile actor which adds to the storyline.
Challenges and triumphs behind the scenes
Sanjay Dutt’s involvement in the film was one of the major challenges because his UK visa application was restricted after the court case in 1993 wherein he was imprisoned under TADA and the Arms Act. Nevertheless, Dutt’s resolve to feature in Son of Sardaar 2 never wavered in any way.
Ajay Devgn’s enthusiasm and the muhurat ceremony
Ajay Devgn who is away in UK on a shooting schedule made an announcement on Instagram a few days back announcing the Muhurat of Son of Sardaar 2. The story of the movie starts with the blessings and prayers, and as such in introducing the movie beyong heros, Devgn shared a clip of the prayer ceremony where he was hotting prayers at the gurdwara. This was showcased through Mrunal Thakur who was seen on stage dancing energetically to a bhangra which says a lot about the culture and color of the film. The movie is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and will have extensive shooting in the UK and India.
