Due to the worries expressed by the devotees regarding the quality of ghee used in the famous Tirupati prasadam laddu, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams TTD says that the sanctity of the sacred sweetmeat has once again been upheld.

Union Minister of State for Food, Pralhad Joshi, urged that the allegations should be probed. TTD, on Friday, shared a lab report, in which, the report mentioned the presence of lard and other impurities in the ghee.
Speaking on behalf of the TTD Executive Officer J Shyamala Rao, a few samples of ghee have been tested that are found to contain animal fat and lard and that they are in the process of blacklisting the supplier of ‘low-quality ghee’ to the board.
