Ukrainian authorities confirmed that on Wednesday there were Russian drone attacks that damaged energy infrastructure in central Ukraine and injured at least two people in the western region of Lviv.
According to the telegram messaging app from the ministry of energy, emergency services have been sent to the hit sites and repairs are taking place on the impaired electrical equipment in Lviv’s west region.
Russian forces launched five drones against Lviv region, which is close to Poland, a member state of NATO. In this attack, two men were hurt, said Maxym Kozytskyi, governor of Lviv region.
On telegram,Kozytskyi mentioned that all five drones were destroyed by Ukraine’s air defenses. The debris caused damage and injury.
The village of Malekhiv located in Lviv city district was attacked by a drone causing not only damages to scores of windows both for residential houses but also a multi-storey dwelling house according to Andriy Sadovyi,Lviv Mayor wrote on Telegram.
Sadovyi stated that a veterinary drugs research institute based in Lviv was also affected by the incident.
Over six Ukrainian regions Russia lost 19 drones out of 21 they had released , as reported by Ukraine’s air force.
There was no immediate comment from Russia. But neither side admits targeting civilians during this war which started February 2022 against its smaller neighbor, Russia waged against her smaller neighboring country since February 2022.
Lviv city is the administrative centre for Lviv region.
