The Kremlin announced on Thursday that the Russian government is considering downgrading diplomatic ties with Western nations.
This is due to increased U.S. and allied participation in the Ukrainian conflict, it said. However, no final decision has been made yet.
Regarding this eventuality, Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman notes that “reducing the level of diplomatic relations is typical for countries, which come across unfriendly or hostile manifestations.”
Moreover, Peskov ascertained that “given an increasing interference of the West into the Ukraine crisis, Russia cannot leave unnoticed various potentialities for addressing such hostile actions from Western governments.”
The representative of the Kremlin then observed that while different avenues are being considered by Russia to respond to acts by western countries there is not yet any definite plan.
