The largest number of battles recorded in one week was on Tuesday, when the Ukrainian military reported that Russian forces had intensified their attacks against the Pokrovsk front in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
After years of incremental progress and greater capacity to field troops, Russian forces have been attempting a slow advance towards Pokrovsk – an important logistics hub held by Kyiv.
For instance, there has been a gradual increase in fighting on the Pokrovsk front from as low as 28 to as high as 42 per day over last week with some analysts suggesting that this could be due to Ukraine’s recent incursion into Russia’s Kursk region.
The daily readout of Ukraine’s General Staff said that there were 52 battles at the Pokrovsk Front. This represents an increase from numbers between twenty-eight and forty-two daily for the past seven days.
This is higher than any other reports since late July but lower than those given during first days of August before their assault in Kursk-region which is part of Russian territory.
It particularly concentrated around two villages- Hrodivka and Zhelanne both located approximately 20 km away from Pokrovsk in general area where most conflict occurs within one day weeks ago, near Donbas zone controlled through Kyiv’s authorities such as separatists or others who oppose them according areas it divided among themselves; however recent news show that they might be regrouping order attack this time around…
