Jakhar is one of the top leaders of the RLD and the national president of the National Jat Federation
The national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party ally Rashtriya Lok Dal Rohit Jakhar has resigned from the party in protest against the BJP’s move to sitting MP Brij B. Tickets were provided by the son of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who faces criminal charges of sexually harassing a female wrestler.
“Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is the accused in the female wrestler’s sexual harassment case. Giving tickets to his son is an insult to female wrestlers. For me, the honor of the country comes first,” Jakhar told PTI on Saturday.
“I submitted my resignation as national spokesperson and key member of the BJP to party president Jayant Choudhary on Friday,” the Jat leader added.
Jakhar also said that he will not join any political party, but his fight for social issues will continue as before.
Jakhar is one of the top leaders of the RLD and the state president of the National Jat Federation. He has been associated with the RLD and the farmers’ movement for more than a decade.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday named Karan Bhushan Singh as its Lok Sabha candidate from Kaiserganj seat in Uttar Pradesh, replacing his father and former Wrestling Federation of India president Brigitte Bhushan Singh. Brij Bhushan Singh).
