It will be 14 years in Bollywood for Sonakshi Sinha as an actor this September. During these years, she has played various roles, but in her web series Heeramandi of 2024, she only got the chance to play a double role for the first time. Now it is revealed that she has a twin role even in her recent movie Kakuda.
Kakuda marks Sonakshi Sinha’s second consecutive film with a double role after Heeramandi
This horror comedy film has been directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known from Munjya (2024). It was directly released on Zee5 and takes place in a village haunted by a dwarf ghost. This ghost attacks Sunny, a newly married man portrayed by Saqib Salaam. He is left with just thirteen days to live. Indira or Indu his wife (Sonakshi Sinha) refuses to take it lying low ad so seeks assistance from Victor Jacobs who is known as being a ghost hunter (Riteish Deshmukh).
Indu’s real name is Indira and later we come to know that she has an identical sister named Gomati who also happens to be her best friend. The viewer follows two intertwining stories: one of them concerns Gomati and the other tells about the relationship between father and daughter. Although both stories are important, audience can notice another interesting connection between them.
In Heeramandi, however, Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Rehana and Fareedan’s mother roles which were played by Sonakshi Sinha. In this Netflix show though both characters never cross paths at any point of their lives unlike Kakuda where many scenes have two Sonakshis appearing onscreen.
Moreover, following her wedding with Zaheer Iqbal who is also an actor like herself; Kakuda will hit the screens too. The marriage was a lavish affair that led to controversies because of the protests in Bihar and the comments by Luv Sinha, her brother on Zaheer at platform X which he later removed.
Before Heeramandi Sonakshi Sinha’s first movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan of 2024 had shown her only in one of the supporting roles. Her brother Kussh Sinha has directed her forthcoming Nikita Roy And The Book Of Darkness.
