Arjun Kapoor’s tenure as a negative character has come to an end! On Wednesday, the actor took social media to express his excitement after he finished shooting for the upcoming action drama Singham Again. This is a big moment for Kapoor who expressed his joy of working in director Rohit Shetty’s famous “cop universe.” It seems that the baton is now handed over to Ranveer Singh after Kapoor has wrapped up his filming. According to reports, Singh has completed most of his scenes in the Ajay Devgn starrer cop film set. The actor is expected to wrap up his part by the end of this month.
May 2024 end will see Ranveer Singh wrapping Singham Again; Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar’s next, starts filming in June – Report
“There are some minor patchwork shooting left which will be concluded within two weeks at Film City,” a source was quoted as saying by Mid-day.
As such, this leaves him with one question: what next? Some insiders suggest three possible projects that involve him: Aditya Dhar’s gangster drama called Dhurandar, Prasanth Varma’s forthcoming movie and Don 3 with Farhan Akhtar. The same source also added that “Singh is expected to start shooting for Aditya’s film in June. He has also been talking with HanuMan director Prasanth Varma about their next project tentatively titled Rakshas.”
Rakshas could be based on a mythological tale during pre-independence era where Singh may play a morally ambiguous figure or so it is believed. This one-of-a-kind role is rumored to have attracted him. By the close of this month, Singh will hopefully have finalized the details regarding his subsequent venture. As per current plans, it would then be followed by taking off by July-end and resuming work on Varma’s film in September after having a break in August.
A source told Bollywood Hungama on condition of anonymity that, “Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar are very keen to make their first collaboration very special. They want to mount the film like the biggest action thriller set against the backdrop of politics and gang wars. The vision to make this requires a big budget and they are not able to align their vision with their studio partner.” about Dhar’s project one month ago.
The same source revealed that Aditya Dhar is currently taking some time off writing down the script again and reducing some of the action sequences so as match it within a particular budget structure. “The market is not lucrative as the digital streaming market has come down in the last 2 years. With films not fetching the requisite value of digital rights, the studios have asked lot of directors to rework their budgets. Aditya Dhar is now working to get budgets in place,” added our source at Bollywood Hungama.
