Rani Mukerji to headline Shonali Bose’s next movie about a family
Rani Mukerji is a well-known actress who has starred in several films such as No One Killed Jessica, Mardaani and Hitchki that made her famous because of her exceptional performances. According to PinkVilla reports, Mukerji is in advanced discussions to star in director Shonali Bose’s upcoming family drama. A source close to the development revealed that “she has been reading many scripts for the past two years and the one that has connected with her the most is Shonali Bose’s next. It’s an endearing family drama, and the makers are looking to take the film on floors from September 2024.
Pre-production for this highly awaited film is currently underway with an aim of casting a prominent A-list actor opposite Mukerji. The ensemble cast is also being finalised. Junglee Pictures known for producing successful movies including Talvar, Raazi, Badhai Ho will be bankrolling it. Shooting begins in September till December 2024 and will release in 2025.
Shonali Bose who directed Amu, Margarita With A Straw and Sky Is Pink among others will be directing this promising project however; fans are eagerly waiting to see Rani play yet another solid role since she committed herself into it. Furthermore, after completing shooting for Bose’s film, she expectedly switches gears to begin work on Mardaani 3 which is under Yash Raj Films’ banner marking its third sequel of Mardaani franchise that is still at script stage.
