Ramoji Rao: Film fraternity mourns the passing of a legend
Gaapati Baburao, former sarpanch of Pedaparupudi village and member of Ramoji Foundation opined that through foundation alone their village received ₹20 crore from Mr. Rao but there are few more works estimated at ₹20 crore which actually are pending for approval by the government to be sanctioned for welfare and development of the village.
“After our sarpanch sir became very famous he constructed the school where he studied. But this is not all; there also exist MPP School building with digital classroom facilities, veterinary hospital construction work going on free overhead water tank constucted for poor people living in more than seven hundred houses free water tap connection to houses like us also built so far building for cooperative bank put up beautification of water pond with fencing,” added Gaapati Baburao on behalf of villagers.
According to him other proposals amounting to approximately another twenty crores has been approved by him in order to ensure total transformation. More so he has authorized the construction of an underground drainage system. He also bought one and half acre piece of land where a compound wall was built to shield the villagers.
Mr. Baburao added that Mr. Rao bought back those parcels of land in order to gift them to the residents after he had sold out all his belongings in the village. However, all of such expectations from every villager got dashed following their sudden death of Mr.Rao as they were expecting a bright future during these general elections after state level government changed hands.
The village has gained much from Mr. Rao – another member of Ramoji Foundation, P.Prasad and other villagers like Chappidi Kishore claimed this before adoption by saying that at Hyderbad’s Ramoji Film City he invited all people to spend an entire day with him and find out what the community needs are for it.He even constructed toilets for poor and replaced streetlights at least in its streets.
The villagers came up together expressing gratitude and offered condolences as well as prayers over his funeral service while explaining how much inspiration he had been to them throughout their lives which made him grow into an influential business magnet despite being born out ordinary peasant family.
