Rajkummar Rao, a Bollywood actor, is about to explore an unfamiliar terrain in the upcoming film which is directed by Pulkit and known for Bhakshak. This project has raised interests among viewers because it would be his first attempt at the action genre with producer Jay Shewakramani who previously did Jawaani Jaaneman, Freddy, Malang and Race 2. In addition to that, he will appear on screen with Manushi Chhillar who she has never worked with before.
According to reports from Pinkvilla, they are set to roll the cameras in September 2024 while releasing it in mid-2025. The new venture could emerge as a commercial entertainer and will have Rajkummar playing a role that his fans have never seen him play before but will see him play a larger-than-life gangster based in rural India.
The movie will see Rajkummar Rao portray the character of a gangster. “Basically this one is an out-and-out commercial entertainer wherein Rajkummar Rao plays that of a gangster,” says an insider. Since the story and character happens in UP only, after shooting most parts of the movie here they might complete some chunks at Mumbai too. Rajkummar is thrilled about this part so he will discuss with his team through discussions as well as readings beginning from September’s first week,” concluded another source close to this project.
To get into character, Rajkumar has planned for numerous reading sessions and workshops over the next few months. The film is scheduled to start shooting in September 2024 with just two months left until completion . The producers plan on releasing it in June or July 2025. “We have made a very commercial palette for storytelling and Rajkummar as an actor will be seen in this avatar that is larger than life,” said the source.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao has a packed schedule ahead of him. He is currently preparing for the release of Stree 2 which is directed by Amar Kaushik and will hit the screen on Independence Day. Following this, he will be seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa that would come out around Dussehra.
