It is Aditya Sarpotdar’s season. Last month, however, he made a big impact at the box office with his horror comedy titled Munjya. A week ago, he also featured another film of this kind on OTT called Kakuda. It turns out that he has already begun working on his next directorial project and it features Rajeev Khandelwal.

Rajeev Khandelwal bags Munjya director Aditya Sarpotdar’s next; to be seen in an Indiana Jones-styled character in Disney+ Hotstar show.

In an interview with Mid-Day, the actor revealed that he was taking part in a web series by the talented filmmaker that will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. Currently untitled, it is based on Dr Prakash Suryakant Koyade’s novel in Marathi titled ‘Pratipashchandra’.

Rajeev Khandelwal sharing his excitement about working with Aditya Sarpotdar during this interview said, “There are people who want to bring another side to you [on screen]. Aditya is one of them. There will be him doing more than us because it’s all about storytelling. I keep telling him, ‘You had Munjya and Kakuda. Now, make this as big as Munjya’.”

The Parami News interviewed me where I detailed how impressed I am with the story line of this web series.

Written by Dr Prakash Suryakant Koyade, ‘Pratipashchandra’ is described as the ‘first Shivaji-era historical mystery novel’. This book contains Shivaji Maharaj’s secret which was hidden from many generations of historians and Bahirji Naik the head of his intelligence department for centuries. The concealed truth survives even today through eight royal scotsmen whom the great king keeps by himself (as stated in the book’s description). The book’s description further states that it ‘connects the fourteenth century, seventeenth century, and twenty-first century’.

Rajeev Khandelwal was recently seen in Showtime series. He played an arrogant superstar named Armaan Singh on this show which was also released on Disney+ Hotstar.

However, before that Aditya Sarpotdar had directed Munjya, starring Sharvari and Abhay Verma. It is a part of Maddock Cinematic Universe; hence, there is correlation with Bhediyaand Stree. Also released on Zee 5, Kakuda starred Riteish Deshmukh as well as Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem.
