As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) a yellow alert has been announced for isolated places in 15 districts, which means that these places are likely to receive rain with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph.

The yellow alert signifies that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds(30-40 kmph) are likely in these places.
The fifteen district
This warning was given for Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri Vikarabad Sangareddy Medak Kamareddy districts too were included in the list.
In view of this situation Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy had a video conference with collectors from various districts advising them about the necessary precautions during this rainy season which is expected to last 5 days.
Hyderabad city region
Very likely there will be light to moderate shower/rain or thundershowers at times heavy over Hyderabad and neighbourhoods. Such conditions were projected for Thursday as well for Hyderabad city itself.
On Tuesday very heavy rainfall started early morning on August 20th led to waterlogging in most parts of the city. Social media platforms showed videos of flooded roads all around.
