Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may be afraid of the “atomic bomb” but the BJP is not and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir belongs to India and “we will occupy it”. He was referring to Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks that Pakistan had an atomic bomb.
Addressing an election rally in Pratapgarh in support of the BJP candidate from Kaushambi (SC) Lok Sabha seat, Shah said: “Rahul Baba, if you want to be afraid of the atomic bomb, Then be afraid, we are not afraid. Pakistan occupied Kashmir belongs to India and we will capture it. In a viral video, Aiyar said that India should respect Pakistan as it is a sovereign country and engage with it. , because it also possesses the atomic bomb.
He said in the film that if a “madman” took power there and used an atomic bomb, that would be bad and it would have repercussions here as well. As the remarks sparked controversy, Congress had said it completely disagreed with Aiyar’s remarks a few months ago.
