Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again made headlines for fabricating a story about the SAT exam in the United States. In a video that went viral on social media, Gandhi can be seen telling a group of people: “When black people start preparing their papers, white people fail the SAT.”
“Who answers the call about what is merit? Let me tell you a little story. There was a beautiful experiment. Just like we have IITs, in the United States, they also have the SAT exam. When the SAT was first implemented, something happened It’s a weird thing. All the white people in America are top, but the black people or the Spanish-speaking people don’t do well,” Gandhi said.
He further added, “Their grand academician then said that blacks and Latinos had no merit. They could not understand it. This went on for several years. Then one day, on the advice of a professor, they made the blacks prepare these Essay. Do you know what happened? All the white people were seen applauding and laughing at Gandhi’s remarks.
“This means that those who control the system are also deciding what is good and what is bad. If you are the son of a farmer, I am the son of a bureaucrat. If you prepare for exams, I am destined to fail,” Gandhi said. In the film, Gandhi goes on to use this story as a metaphor that if the people preparing for the exams are upper castes and the Dalits fail, then the Dalits should prepare for the exams.
Gandhi is being schooled on X (formerly Twitter) for “making up stories to create division.” One X user wrote: “Who told him this story: In America, all white people failed the test SAT because take an exam Was it set by black people?In fact, there is no official passing or failing grade on the exam SAT.And, how to compare SAT Is it JEE or IIT? These false stories and dreams will destroy the education system.
