A bus driver was allegedly assaulted by the driver of a sports utility vehicle at Nadama Thekkumbhagam, near Kannankulangara junction, Thripunithura, in Ernakulam on July 18.
The KSRTC bus with Subair (47) from Vaikkom as the driver was admitted to the Government Taluk Hospital, Thripunithura when he was reportedly hit on his head and hand by that car driver. The bus was travelling from Ernakulam to Kattapana in Idukki.
Entry blocked
It is alleged that while trying to enter into a nearby bus stand car parked blocking the entry way of into it Mr. Subair honked the horn. Even though the KSRTC overtook him, this unknown car driver asked why he had honked.
The bus behind him was immediately overtaken by the car driver before blocking its way forward. He got out of his automobile and swore at him After which he entered inside and banged a blow at the person steering it.
As for the fellow who ran off after committing this act; according to statements made by this victimized party being interviewed today before presspersons; there might be no adequate response forthcoming – too late!
They have filed an FIR against him under Section 121 (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 126 (2) for wrongful restraint under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
