PVR INOX Pictures have announced the Indian theatrical release of the highly anticipated slasher horror film The Strangers: Chapter 1 on May 31, 2024. Directed by the acclaimed Renny Harlin, known for his work on Cliffhanger and Die Hard 2, the film is set to reboot the iconic horror series with a new trilogy. With a screenplay by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, this chilling movie features Riverdale fame actress Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez in the lead roles.

The film centres around a young couple, Maya (Madelaine Petsch) and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez), who embark on a cross-country journey to start a new life in the Pacific Northwest. When their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they are forced to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, where they are terrorized from dusk till dawn by three masked strangers. The stellar cast also includes Gabriel Basso, Rachel Shenton, Richard Brake, and Ema Horvath, adding depth to this heart-pounding horror experience.
