On May 20, 2024, a tragedy occurred in Pune when a Porsche driven by a drunk 17-year-old boy struck two software engineers on motorcycles, killing them. Different pub staffs went on a protest after illegal pubs were targeted by the police.
According to officials, two Sassoon General Hospital doctors have been taken into custody for allegedly tampering with blood samples and removing evidence related to the accident case of a 17 year old boy. The doctors were arrested for alleged manipulation of blood samples and destruction of evidence in this case.” The teenager’s father is a realtor and his grandfather was also taken into custody by the police over these accusations.
The Pune police revealed that they have arrested two doctors from the Sassoon General Hospital; they are accused of manipulating blood samples as well as destroying important pieces of evidence in relation to the car accident.
A senior police officer told reporters that “they have been arrested for alleged manipulation of blood samples and destruction of evidence in the case”. According to an official statement released by authorities involved in the investigation: Dr. Ajay Taware and Shrihari Harnor have since been apprehended.”
“They’ve been detained concerning allegations that they manipulated blood specimens plus destroyed crucial proof” stressed one high-ranking member from law enforcement. A juvenile justice court initially granted him bail but after anger against its leniancy combined with an appeal filed by the local authorities, he was sent to a remand home till next month’s beginning.
This incident is currently under investigation by CCB (crime branch).
