On Thursday morning, there were fewer school and college buses on the roads than usual. This was because educational institutions remained closed due to Bharat Bandh called by students’ organisations across Telangana.
While some schools informed their students in the evening of Wednesday about the bandh, other ones delayed the communication until very early on Thursday morning leading to confusion among parents. However, a few schools functioned as normal.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been accused of NEET irregularities and postponing NET; as a consequence, students’ organizations had no choice but to declare a Bharat Bandh which turned out to be successful.
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), together with Students’ Federation of India and others gathered at Narayanaguda flyover and demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
About 24 lakh candidates have appeared for NEET and these guys are playing with their future. We are also demanding that Supreme Court judges supervise investigations into paper leakage. The fees should also be returned to lakhs of students by the government.”
