The Jamat has demanded an inquiry in detail into the alleged police excesses in Malappuram district carved under the supervision of former District Police Chief S. Sujith Das, currently in suspension.
The Muslim Jamat remarked “The State government should show the courage to rein in such police officers who flout the very essence of policing.” They singled out that Malappuram was much lower in the crime record rate in the country. It demanded that all the cases which were charged under the aegis of Mr. Sujith Das be looked through, and nonsensical cases be lifted.
