Purple Pebble Pictures, owned by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, has partnered with Rajshri Entertainment for Paani, a Marathi film under Kothare Vision Pvt Ltd. Directed by Addinath M. Kothare and slated to be released on October 18, 2024. Whilst it is the first time that Rajshri Entertainment will be making a Marathi production, for ‘Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures this is a step towards increasing its presence in regional cinema.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Rajshri Entertainment collaborate to produce Addinath M. Kothare’s Marathi film Paani.
Nitin Dixit writes Paani which stars Addinath M. Kothare, Rucha Vaidya, Subodh Bhave, Rajit Kapur, Kishor Kadam, Nitin Dixit himself as well as Sachin Goswami, Mohanabai and others; Neha Barjatya from Rajshri Entertainment and the late Rajjat Barjatya of Purple Pebble Pictures produce it while Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Dr Madhu Chopra serve as associate producers. The associate producers are Siddharth Chopra and Mahesh Kothare.
Reacting to the project being done by Priyanka Chopra Jonas was euphoric when she said that “Paani – A passion project which deals with an essential problem is ready to go around the world.” This movie is indeed special but also very challenging though timely hence an inspiring story about one man looking for ways to solve problems so as to change everyone’s lives.
Again she said “In Purple Pebble Pictures we are committe to collaborating with incredible talent across India’s every region for local stories like these,” he described Addinath’s impressive directorial debut as an entertaining inspirational film dealing with real issues before going on add that “I would like to congratulate the entire cast and crew on their hard-earned achievement! Rajshri Entertainment’s Neha Barjatya added, “We are glad that Paani will be our first ever Marathi film.” The movie has a strong theme regarding water scarcity, and this makes it stand out as one of the most relevant social films available today. We know that it will play a crucial role in bringing awareness about this urgent issue.
