Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers at the Ram temple in Ayodhya before holding a massive roadshow in the holy city. The prime minister’s first visit to Ayodhya since the holy shrine was consecrated on January 22 comes two days before the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
In a televised ceremony, Modi was seen kneeling in front of the Ram Lala idol at the newly built temple. After paying tribute to Lord Ram, Prime Minister Modi wrote in X letter: “In Ayodhya, praying to Prabhu Shri Ram for the welfare of my 1.4 billion fellow Indians.”

In preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit, the temple’s gates were decorated with flowers. Replicas of bows and arrows made of flowers can also be seen in various places. According to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Ram Lalla, who was sitting in the temple on Sunday, was wearing light pink attire.
Prime Minister Modi later took part in a roadshow with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Amit Shah to seek support for the sitting BJP MP Lalu Singh in Faizabad and the contesting MPs from neighboring districts.
As Modi’s motorcade passed by, the roads were lined with people from all walks of life.

Polling for the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat under Ayodhya district will be held on May 20 in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier on Sunday, the Prime Minister seized on Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav’s slip of the tongue and said now Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother is appealing to “let the people of India The party wins.”
Modi was addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah, the hometown of SP founder late Mulayam Singh Yadav. At a recent election meeting in Jaswant Nagar in the presence of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Yadav asked people to ensure that on May 7 “BJP should “Advantage wins” and thus loses his composure.
Recalling Mulayam Singh Yadav’s statement about him, Modi said, “The parliamentary session is ongoing. This is the last parliamentary session before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Mulayam Singh Yadav Mulayam Singh ji stood up and spoke and said, “You will win again” and it became a blessing that Netaji is not among us now, but coincidentally, his own brother. The words in his heart came to his lips as he was calling for the victory of the BJP.
