In a twist of events in the case of the alleged kidnap and assault of a police officer’s son, it emerged that the wounds were self-inflicted by the son who had lied to create an alibi.
On 21st May 2016; Gautham Subash aged 22 years lodged a complaint with Jnana Bharathi police station. He said on the previous night, as he was returning his home on coming from work in his bike at around nine thirty p.m., six persons unknown to him riding bikes intercepted him forcefully and took him to an unknown place. On arrival, they told him that his father harassed them while working at Kamakshipalya Police Station. Then, they attacked him using some sharp weapon on his hands and shoulders threatening that his sister would be raped and parents will be murdered later.
The police filed a case based on the complaint which led to an investigation. They discovered that the boy’s complaint was false.
According to the police, officers reviewed CCTV footage from the scene of alleged incident but found nothing supporting his story. This aroused suspicions leading them to further interrogating complainant. Eventually, he confessed about this lie and admitted being drunk with friends during that night. As he returned home, there was light rain which caused an accident just before Kengeri where both his phone and motorcycle were damaged. According to officials within the force he explained this happened because he anticipated severe punishment by dad and thus invented such lie.
“Afterward, using a blade from bicycle tool box he injured himself then faked attack calling parents as well as friends for help,” The father took him for treatment before lodging formal charges at hospital.. “Upon thorough scrutiny we have reached a conclusion that this complaint is fake,” declared officers.
