According to police, a man was shot and killed by an officer on Thursday after he allegedly stabbed his 8-year-old younger brother and both of his parents in New York City.
The 20-year-old suspect, who had already murdered his brother, was holding his father hostage with a knife at the throat of the victim. The Parami News Post reported that police were called to a cramped unit inside 147-25 94th avenue.
“She came out like this, hollering help me! Help me!” NYPD Chief John Chell recounted of the call made just minutes after five p.m. when a bleeding woman stumbled out of an apartment building in Queens.
“They kept telling him to drop the knife… This went on for several minutes, but instead of complying with their orders…” Chell said.
Through New York Post it was revealed that all four were taken to hospital where both brothers died while their mother and father were treated.
Moreover, as per the police report there was a baby aged eight months in the room during the incident but he did not get any injury from the attack.
“This is just going back really to remind people what they have to walk into as New York City police officers and what decisions they have to make quickly,” Chell explained. “And two lives have been saved tonight because of those decisions.”
Police are still piecing together whether or not these two men are brothers or stepbrothers, exactly how this tragedy happened according to what The Parami News Post said.
