A mammoth sudden demonstration paralyzed Dilsukhnagar Metro station vicinity on Wednesday night when angry police job aspirants blocked the road demanding that GO 46 be scrapped. “Admittedly, Hyderabad youths only got 53% of the jobs through GO 46,” they said.
The police job aspirants blocked roads for what they saw as Congress government’s betrayal of its pre-election promise to repeal the order.
One of the controversial sentences in the GO issued during Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s reign in April 2022 is “95% of the posts to be filled by direct recruitment at any time in such cadres contiguous above including one zone/ multi zones shall be reserved in favour and allocated among local candidates in relation to each such category.”
The unemployed rural youngsters would suffer if this order was not revoked. According to police job hopefuls.
This resulted in severe inconvenience for commuters due to traffic congestion. The protesters chanted slogans against Congress rule and want justice for them.
Tensions flared up when police moved in, amidst claims by protestors that excessive force was used while trying to disperse them.
