One of the most prestigious awards, ‘Gudleppa Hallikeri award’ for 2024 has been presented to poet and playwright Siddhalinga Pattanashetti by Gudleppa Hallikeri Memorial Foundation, Hosaritti (Haveri District).
In Haveri on Monday, trustee of Gudleppa Hallikeri Memorial Foundation Veeranna Chekki talking to presspersons said that the senior writer would receive the prize at a function on June 6.
The professor will be the recipient of the nineteenth award as per Mr. Chekki. The memento and cash price of Rs 25,000 comprise this award.
Photo Museum
Mr. Chekki is also National Education Society Secretary for Hosaritti, he explained that they have established a photo museum in Gandhi Grameen Gurukul at Hosaritti which showcases photos of freedom fighter Gudleppa Hallikeri.
Shashi Sali famous photographer who had acquired over three hundred pictures of Gudleppa has secured them for exhibition purposes in the museum. According to him, a picture gallery can let one know more about freedom fighter and Gandhian named as Gudleppa Hallikeri; including his participation in freedom struggle, political life, his family etc.
The function will be chaired by Basavaraj Horatti Chairman Legislative Council.“Ex-students” and P.L Patil Vice Chancellor University Of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad & Professor Veeranna Rajur will attend the event added he.
R.S. Patil, Girish Ankalkoti, Shambanna Arali and Prabhu Gourimani from gramme gurukul spoke about other activities taking place in residential school and new initiatives being taken up.
