New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed in his rally speech on Saturday that the previous Congress government’s handling of Pakistan was “weak” terrorism problem. He stressed that past governments had sent “love letters” to Pakistan in the hope of peace, only to receive more terrorist responses.
PM Modi highlights major shift in India’s stance after 2014 Lok Sabha electionattributed it to the power of voters.
“Earlier, terrorists used to kill innocent people indiscriminately, and the government also wrote love letter to pakistan. But Pakistan sent more terrorists based on the letter. But with the power of your vote, I say enough is enough; the new India of today does not provide an archive. Prime Minister Modi said at a rally in Palamu that this is the new India, “Ghar mein ghus ke maarta hai”. The special attack has made Pakistan uneasy. He said Pakistan’s current predicament was evident in its appeal to the international community for assistance.
“Surgery and Balakot attack shocked Pakistan. Now Pakistan is crying all over the world, shouting ‘Pakistan Super League, Pakistan Super League. Pakistan leaders are praying to Congress’ Shezada to become prime minister. But strong India now only wants a strong government,” he added.
Addressing regional security issues, Prime Minister Modi lauded the post-2014 government for resolving issues of Naxalism, terrorism and Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhry praised Rahul Gandhi, comparing his socialist ideology to that of his great-grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru. Chaudhry highlighted the common socio-economic challenges faced by India and Pakistan and emphasized the need for equitable wealth distribution.
Jharkhand will go to polls in four phases from May 13 to June 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress won one seat each.
