Prime Minister Narendra Modi after ending his visit to Russia and Austria flew home to New Delhi, Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New Delhi on Thursday morning of July 11th after he concluded a two-nation visit to Russia and Austria.
Before this time, he was for two days on an official trip to Moscow where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
After his journey, PM Modi shared a post on X thanking the Austrian Chancellor and Government as well as people who treated him well.
This visit was also very fruitful according to him. He characterized it as historic’
“Mine is not an ordinary visit but one that has been exceptionally successful. It has added new vigour in our friendship. Vienna had various interesting programs. Thanks to Chancellor @karlnehammer, the Austrian Government & people for their hospitality & warmth,” he wrote on X
On Wednesday Mr. Modi attended a community event in Vienna and said that 75 years of their relationship marked this occasion
The crowd at the community event shouted ‘Modi Modi’ when PM came up on stage.
At this event which brought together the Indian diaspora in large numbers it was clear how strong India’s bond with them is. Therefore during an official ceremony held today by Chancellor Nehammer (Nehammer), gratitude was expressed by Chancellor Karl Nehammer towards teams responsible for organizing State visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Austria.
Additionally, Nehammer thanked the countless individuals and team members involved behind the scenes such as ministry of foreign affairs who have put so much effort into making sure everything went smoothly. “It requires dozens of employees working flat-out for several weeks if a state visit like @narendramodi’s to Austria is supposed to take place at all…”

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and PM Modi praised the tradition of cultural exchange while they also touched on the increased interest of Austrians on yoga and Ayurveda. Both leaders also recognized that in order to have larger involvement in high-tech sectors, it is necessary to develop skills and allow skilled workforces to move.
In connection with this matter, both leaders welcomed the operationalization of the Migration & Mobility Agreement, which will serve as an institutional framework for such exchanges while at the same time combating irregular migration, according to PMO.
PM Modi held important meetings with Austrian Head-of-State Alexander Van Der Bellen and Chancellor Nehammer aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring new areas for collaboration between India and Austria.
They also brought up his conversation with business people from both regions.
He said that he had met business leaders from India and Austria. He said that our country is optimistic about using a wide range of opportunities in order to improve trade relations with each other and also develop business connections. PM Modi arrived in Vienna on June 9th for an overnight state visit.
