A video clip of independence day celebration in Mungeli district in Chhattisgarh state showing a pigeon being released by a cop that failed to fly has gone viral making the officer to demand actions on those responsible.
As soon as this was aired, some online users noticed that it is exactly what happened in season 3 of the Panchayat web series.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and former minister Punnulal Mohle who was the chief guest, Mungeli Collector Rahul Deo, and Superintendent of Police Girija Shankar Jaiswal were given pigeons to release during the ceremony which symbolized peace and freedom.
Those let loose by the MLA as well as the collector flew away. But when SP set free his pigeon, it landed on the ground.
Then Sachin Gupta shared “Panchayat-3 repeated in Chhattisgarh. SP sahab released pigeons on Independence Day. His pigeon fell down instead of flying. Watch this.”
The superintendent sent a letter to the collector’s office demanding appropriate action against such behavior or whatsoever.
“What is being referred to here is an unfortunate incident where a pigeon fell down after having been widely publicized by social media and other platforms during an important national holiday like Independence Day. This came as a result of presenting an unwell bird for flying at the main district level event. It could have been worse if it had been done by chief guests of the function or honourable MLA,” according to his letter.
“This clearly shows that whoever was charged with doing it did not do their work properly,” stated SP.
It is said that this bird is alive.
Panchayat-3 was repeated in Chhattisgarh.
