The sentiments of participants were represented by protestors. Who passionately declared ‘Pashtun will not allow their land to be used for further operations and wars’.
On Tuesday, a huge rally was organise that stretched from the Sultan Khel Market to Landi kotal bazar for protesting against the alleged fake operations and military policies perceived as terrorism in Khyber Pakthunkhwa province.
PTM also staged a major gathering (Jalsa) at Razmak on June 22, North Waziristan tribal district.
The rally demanded an end to violence and human rights abuse in the region. While vehemently condemning the rise in target killings, enforced disappearances, and threats from landmines.
Against ongoing oppression, state terrorism, exploitation of mineral resources, target killings and kidnappings thousands of people participated in this demonstration.
Manzoor Pashteen founder of PTM said “We will not tolerate this terrorist policy of establishment and army anymore. In this policy not only Pashtoons rather all nations and lower class people are being exploite” .
He further criticized “It is terrorism behind the uniform. If such situation of military’s terrorist policy remains unchanged then soon common people will get fed up with them and overthrow military regime. We are closely monitoring public anger.”
Recent rally underscores growing influence PTM movement has gained over time coupled with mounting frustration among Pashtun about their homeland being use as battleground for military operations.
A look at the turnout at that rally shows a wide spread discontent calling for change.
Participants stressed on peace and justice; saying it is urgent to stop military operation as well as establish a fair system. Which guarantees each citizen his rights and freedom.
It is a grassroots movement advocating for rights of Pashtuns in Pakistan; established in 2018.
Pashteen led PTM which emerged as result of human rights violations faced by Pashtun including extrajudicial killing-let alone forced abductions-and the danger of landmines in their regions.
This movement organizes peaceful protests and rallies demanding accountability from the Pakist military and government.
Despite significant repression, PTM still stands for justice and equality.
