The world’s longest running serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has once again attracted trouble after an actor accused the producers of harassing her. After many actors have quit the show, yet another actress Palak Sindhwani, one of the main cast who depicts Sonu Bhide in the Sony SAB show has also claimed that she has also quit from the ongoing show, and has even back alleged that the makers have retaliated by issuing the recent legal notices to her. To the claims that her ex-employer made directly with the aim of making her look like a party that violated an agreement with them, the dramatist of the moment assured them that such a chronological maneuvering was only initiated after her resignation was on record.
Palak Sindhwani, in a recent exclusive chat with Bombay Times, shared some of her shocking secrets, one of them being the details of how the reports on the breach of contract legal notices began to come after her resignation: ‘I had communicated to the production house of my decision to quit the show on 8th August, 2013.’ The reason why they decided to take the email is that they told me I am going to be given an official email (ID) to which I could mail the resignation letter but that never happened. Michala took her time to sanction her resignation and weeks later much to her dismay, the media had groomed over the story of how she was in breach of the contract. I signed their contract 5 years ago and they denied giving me a copy of it. On September 19, 2024, I was handed a copy’ is how the actress articulated.
The actress defended herself by saying that the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah went to known extent and promoted her promotions and campaigns on social media but waited until she announced her quitting the particular serial to take any action. “They had said I can continue with commercials like the brands which are linked to the shows, and post lockdown, I too resumed, branded communications in social platforms. They kept quiet at that time but after I declared that I would leave, they have come up with this plan,” she added.
“I have also consulted a lawyer and I will do what I think is right for my career. I had planned to leave the show for health and professional reasons. I have had a number of discussions but there is no resolution to this yet. This is a form of slavery and I never thought that I would face this after being associated with them for five years. It is not that easy to get out of Taarak Mehta as they are making it now which is the reason why Taarak Mehta is very exciting to me. There is every reason for me to quit Taarak Mehta, but because there is no respect from the channel towards me. They are complicating my exit just because I want to. Taarak Mehta deserves better this,” Sindhwani said.
