The Pakistani Meteorological Department (PMD) says more monsoon rainfall is expected in the country from August 14 to 18, according to Geo News.
Monsoons are also predicted to bring a lot of rain and thunderstorms together with lightning while they will cover the upper areas and the middle parts of Pakistan as stated by weather department.
Moreover, partly cloudy skies are expected over coastal areas of Sindh with chances of drizzle. Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other areas of Punjab may receive rain from August 14 until August 18.
According to Parami News, heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds should be expected in Muree Galiyat Chakwal Gujrat Gujranwala Hafizabad Wazirabad Sahiwal Jhang Nankana Sahib Chiniot Faisalabad Lahore Sheikhupura Sialkot Narowal Okara Pakpattan.
Furthermore, light shower along with thunderstorm is anticipated in Kasur Khushab Sargodha. Additionally, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions will experience heavy rainfall including thunder and lightning from August 14-18.
In addition, Chitral Dir Swat Bajaur Buner Mansehra Abbottabad Haripur Peshawar Mardan Charsadda Hangu Kurram Orakzai Bannu Dera Ismail Khan might have occasional spells of drizzling rain too.
The PMD has already predicted an above normal monsoon for Pakistan even as parts of the country continued experiencing water logging problems. It remains one of the countries experts say is most vulnerable to extreme weather being spurred by climate change, Parami News reported.
On August 11th following torrential rains Lahore streets were submerged under water. Citizens blamed poor infrastructure specifically road network which was waterlogged leading to inconveniences on daily commuting.
