Including inji puli, erissery, pulichery, olan, avial, parippu payasam and palada payasam in a single meal is the ultimate pleasure which chef Mushthri plans to do.
This year, Onam sadya has been interesting because it is focused on using fresh ingredients that are available in the locality. According to Chef Mushthri, the said preparation is a ‘labour of love’ in terms of efforts to bring back the age-old recipes.

The Novotel Hotel has transformed the concept of sadya by amalgamating the traditional styles with modern ones in order to satisfy the ever-changing tastes of people while being rooted in the traditional dishes of Kerala. The special Onam jail meal will be served as brunch at The Square restaurant in the form of buffet laid out over the tables. There will be more than 10 varieties of cuisine served from the buffet but also live cooking stations.

Kerala Kala Samiti
In addition to being a part of the Onam feast, Kerala Kala Samiti has been actively involved in the efforts towards safeguarding the cultural heritage of Thoughralo-festival, Visakhapatnam. Events of the Onam festival upon the rest quarter of the year include theatres, comedies, contests and Onamadya. The festivities will commence on 15th September with pookalam competition wherein families will be motivated to take part in the age-old art of making pookalams that are complex designs of flower rangoli. This will be followed by a cookery competition. The sittings for Onasadya and the ensuing performance will be scheduled for September 22.
The event pleasure of immediate beaches is held on 22nd September 10 am onwards at kala keralam, timber hall.
