New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi received a heartfelt gift at his public gathering on Sunday Hugliwest bengal Mother’s Day.
Two young men presented him with a portrait of his late mother, Hraban Patel. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and asked the Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos to collect the portraits of these people.
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the differences between Western and Indian celebrations of Mother’s Day.
He said: “People at the rally took pictures of my mother here. People in the ‘West’ celebrate this day as Mother’s Day, but in India we worship our mothers, Ma Durga, Ma Kaali and Bharat Mata, throughout the year For 365 days, please SPG Commando put your address in the back of the newspaper, I want to thank you both.
The portraits depict two touching moments between the Prime Minister and his mother. In one photo, Prime Minister Modi is seen sitting on the floor with his hands on his mother’s legs. Another photo shows them sitting together, with the mother’s hands on her son’s shoulders.
Mother’s Day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May, this year it is May 12th.
