Donald Trump, the Republican candidate and former US president celebrated his 78th birthday on Friday night with a multi-tiered cake that depicted various things related to him such as an American flag, “Make America Great Again” baseball cap, and Trump golfing.
He addressed his supporters in Florida, where he criticized Joe Biden for being weak at eighty one years old with another election around the corner and hinted that he would not survive two terms in office.
“Our country is being destroyed by incompetent people,” Trump announced to the crowd, also devoting much of his time at the podium making fun of Biden. He even proposed “aptitude tests for all presidents.”
Trump’s birthday party was held at a convention center near Mar-a-lago, which is situated in West Palm Beach. The event was organized by Club 47 fan club.
As Trump made his way to the stage, the audience sang happy birthday and chanted USA! USA! Seat prices were between $35 and $60 depending on proximity to stage; however, fans bought them all out in a matter of hours —all 5,000 seats.
During his speech, Trump repeated familiar campaign promises about immigration using fearsome language, reducing regulations on businesses, cutting taxes and eliminating environmental safeguards that restrict domestic energy production .
However, despite frequently criticizing Biden himself; Trump contradicted himself by telling his supporters at one point to vote early mail-in or show up personally on Election Day just so he could later say “I actually tell our people we don’t need your vote. We’ve got so many votes.”
Despite getting convicted of a felony while still a sitting President there has been unwavering support from Republicans both within elected officeholders as well as those who make up their party’s base. Last month it was announced that he would be receiving another nomination by GOP presidential primary voters next month while facing sentencing over his hush money case slated for July 11.
