Official design of Telangana Talli statue notified by Government

Telangana government has issued a notification on Monday (December 9, 2024) approving the features of Telangana Talli Statue and its features.

The State Government has issued notification approving the Telangana Talli statue and its features on Monday (December 9, 2024). It has defended the statue approved by it describing the design features as embodiment of the self respect and existence of the people of Telangana.

The design shows Telangana Talli as traditional woman with calm and serene facial features and adornments that are reflective of culture and history of the State. The design shows Telangana Talli as a dignified middle-aged woman giving an assurance of prosperity with her right hand and her left hand carrying traditional crops – paddy, pearl millet, foxtail millet and maize – cultivated in the State.

Telangana Talli stands on a pedestal of closed fists indicating the determination to fight for rights and sacrifices made by people, youth in particular, for separate Statehood. The notification said the statue was a symbol of people’s self respect and identity, and any distortion or presenting the image/design in any other manner is prohibited and notified as a crime.

Disrespecting Telangana Talli, insulting her and acts of destruction like setting the statue on fire or making fun of the statue verbally or otherwise publicly, over media, social media and other places would be a crime, the notification said.
