There is growing political tension as we near the Lok Sabha elections. In the Pulwama incident, yet another congress leader seems to be exculpating Pakistan. Mahender Pratap Singh, a former minister and candidate for the grand old party, has been criticized heavily by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for stating that there was a strike in 2019 and ‘It was not Pakistan, but the Indian government that caused this’.
“The Pulwama attack has become public. Their own governor (referring to Satya Pal Malik) revealed that he had asked the prime minister to airlift people because they did not want to use the route due to security threats. There is no revelation like this Stronger evidence. So, the second term is secured (through this poll) and now they are gearing up for the third term,” Singh shared on X said in his election rally speech.

In recent times similar observations have been made regarding India’s terrorist attacks by previous Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Chani, Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wareen, Vijay Wadetiwar and Shashi Tharoor.
While Waring called the 2019 Pulwama attack a “mystery” and claimed that during election time “The ruling BJP can do anything”, Chani termed it as villainous “stunts” surrounding terror attacks during elections period.
Recent comments of Former CM of Punjab had created ripples amid fresh terror strikes against an IAF convoy at Jammu & Kashmir’s Poonch district.
On contrary Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar maintained Hemant Karkare, a top cop in Maharashtra (who was an ATS chief during 26/11 terror attacks), did not die at the hands of Ajmal Kasab’s bullet it was one of their own.
Wadetiwar justified his assertion by referring to a book authored by retired police officer SM Mushriff titled “Who Killed Karkare”.
