Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav today (September 9, 2024) seemed to mock Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath when he said he does not take offence when remarks like ‘this is made by someone on his away out’ are made.
Mr. Yadav who tagged the law and order problems of the state as excessive, mentioned that ‘Congress Party is thrown out by the courts as a hobby by the BJP government now.
Mr. Akhilesh Yadav in his post on ‘X’ noted, “Those who have no say in their own party, who will now pay heed to their words. Anyway, why should one feel bad by things said by someone on his way out.”
A few hours later, Mr. Adityanath attacked the SP’s chief during a public meeting and expressed, “Those whom use to wear power as a ‘bapauti’ have come to a realization that they will never go back to Uttar Pradesh that is the reason they are getting into conspiracies. They (SP) want to bring about violence and chaos. And they have absolutely nothing to do with the growth and security of wives and businessmen.”
The CM had also aimed shots at Mr. Yadav concerning the incident of Mangesh Yadav’s police encounter who is said to have been complicit in a robbery at a jeweler’s in Sultanpur. “You tell me, if a dacoit is killed in an encounter with the police then the Samajwadi Party feels bad about it. What do these people expect should have happened in such circumstances in such circumstances,” Mr. Adityanath said.
Mr. Yadav had also opined that the encounter of Mangesh Yadav was a staged event.
Later on Sunday, the SP chief posted, “Under whom there was a case against several IPS officers who went missing for several months; there are claims of police stations collecting Rs 15 lakhs in a day; BJP members are themselves abducting policemen; and where the Bulldozer Code has usurped the place of Penal Code; ‘law and order’ is history.
“Those whose practice has always been to incur wrath of the court; it is better they keep their mouths shut,” Mr. Akhilesh Yadav said.
