On June 24, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee was at the Parliament House complex on the first day of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha in New Delhi.
According to Trinamool Congress (TMC) on June 25, they were not approached over choosing Congress MP K. Suresh as INDIA bloc’s nominated member for Lok Sabha Speaker.
On Tuesday morning, Mr. Suresh filed his nomination for the election of speaker but he did not sign by any other member of INDIA bloc parties including Trinamool Congress.
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee when asked about their stand towards this said that they haven’t been contacted yet.

“No one talked to us; there are no talks it is a pity that it is done unilaterally,” he said.
“Our party leadership Mamata ji will decide,” he said.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Mr. Banerjee were later seen chatting inside Lok Sabha.
The media asked Rahul Gandhi whether he agreed with Mr. Banerjee regarding Speaker matter after leaving the House upon affirmation.
When asked a brief answer to this question, Jai Samvidhan (hail Constitution)” said the Congress leader.
Opposition has chosen its Speaker nominee who will vie against Om Birla from BJP; that person is seven-time Lok Sabha member Mr. Suresh.
