The state media KCNA reported on Thursday that North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un had offered two Pungsan dogs, which are a breed indigenous to the country, to the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The dogs were put up by Kim and Putin who were seen gazing at them through a rose decorated fence.
Kim and Putin bonded over animals; for example Kim fed carrots to a horse while Putin gently patted its head.
An Aurus limousine was offered as a gift by Putin to Kim thus making it the second time the North Korean leader has been given this car model by him. A tea set was also presented to Kim along with it.
Additionally, there was a test drive in which Putin took the 40-year-old North Korean leader round in an Aurus car made in Russia bringing their day’s discussions to an end.
Putin is known for his athletic body and love of nature. State photos from Russia showing him shirtless have been published several times before he rode on a brown horse wearing sunglasses that wrapped around his head, gold chains around his neck and military trousers home page.
Similarly, Kim became popular on the internet on 2019 when State Korea media released photographs of him riding white stallion through snow-covered landscape of Mount Paektu leading to flooding memes.
He is also seen again riding white horses in propaganda video of 2022
These horses ridden by Kim carry meaning for North Korea because after the Korean War, they named their post-war economic recovery program after “Chollima” which means ‘Thousand Mile,’ or Heavenly Horse.’ This is very different from “Chollima-1”, its latest rocket booster.
During an era of improved relations between two Koreas, Moon jae-in- former South Korean president received two Pungsans – Gomi and Songgang – from kim Jong-un in 2018
Pungsan bred hunting dog originating in northern region of north korea.
