Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said the truth of the matter is that he has ‘no hesitation in facing any investigation’ and that he needs to deal with those familiar with such matters to find out if such investigations are legal in the country. “After discussions with legal experts, I will decide on the further course of action.,” he said.
On 24 September, the Chief Minister had stated, “I have come to know from the media about the order of the high court. I issue the statement only after I obtain the entire and the actual order. The order of sanction for prosecution granted by the Governor was found inappropriate by the court. By Section 218, the court has granted sanction for prosecution.”
“The Honourable Judge has confined his judgement merely in Section 17(A) of the guilt of the Governor as ordered. The complainant was seeking sanction for investigation and prosecution under Sections 218 of the BNSS Act, 17(A) and 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act respectively. However, the Governor did not agree to this request of prosecution under Section 19 of the Act.”
“The court has in clear terms negated the prosecution sanction which was given by the Governor under Section 218 of the BNSS Act. In the days to come I am sure the truth will be the order of the day and the investigation sanctioned under Section 178 A will also be vitiated.”
“But this is not the case, Karnataka continues to stand with me in this political war. It is their blessings that keep me safe. Among the law and the Constitution, I believe in the full measure of the two. I therefore contend, and hold it as a profound truth, that in this contest, justice will ultimately prevail. This is a battle against the spiteful politics of the Central Government under the rule of Modi.”
Focusing on the opponents, he shouted “We will not stop fighting in the courts against the vengeful atrocities of the BJP and the JD(S). The BJP and the JD(S) have been resorting to political revenge since I have stood up for the poor and championed social justice. I trust fully in the judiciary.
“All the MLAs, leaders and workers of my party and the Congress high command are with me and have been urging me to fight the case and so I will continue the fight.
“This is a battle that I know I will also win with the support of the masses. The MUDA case is merely a fig leaf. The Modi and Kumaraswamy’s real reason is to put an end to our government’s welfare schemes targeted towards the poor and marginalised people.
“Also, I appeal to people watching this creating false allegations through this exaggerated MUDA case.”
Mr Siddaramiah remarked, “The people of Karnataka have never ever given enough majority to the BJP to rule on their own. For BJP ruling parties is always achieved through unethical means such as Operation Kamala, but through money and other forms of manipulation.”
The last elections of 2023, Congress emerged victorious with a total of 136 seats in a 224 members ballroom.
“In this respect, top leaders of the BJP party, whowould feather crisis in India under its present leadership i’m a sore throat Raj Bhavans Kentucky for other state’s government opposition parties attempting to weaken. Even in this aspect, I say without apprehension that BJP and JD(S) are going to lose in this maneuver,” the Chief Minister elucidated.
