Political activist turned political strategist Prashant Kishor has accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of “touching feet” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to maintain his hold on power.
On Friday June 14th, 2024 during a public meeting at Bhagalpur, Mr.Kishor who previously spearheaded the ‘Jan Suraaj’ campaign said this.
“Why am I now criticizing Nitish Kumar? People often ask me this question. He was different back then; his conscience was not yet up for auction,” explained Kishor who managed the JD (U) president’s election campaign in 2015 and officially joined the party two years later.
He brought disgrace to Bihar when he prostrated before Modi as much as saying that “he had dragged Nitish Kumar down by touching him.”
Although the BJP did not win enough numbers to form government on its own, JD(U) won twelve seats in Lok Sabha polls making it second largest partner with BJP.
“You would hear a lot that nitish kumar played a major role in returning modi to power but how is he leveraging his position? Does he use this power for development of Bihar? No! He touches feet so as be in power even after assembly elections of 2025 with help from BJP” continued Mr. Kishor.
Notably, Mr.Kisore became famous first time round when he successfully guided Narendra Modi’s spectacular general election campaign in 2014. By the time his political consulting career ended in 2021, Mr. Kishor had worked for many high-profile politicians, such as Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal and Jagan Mohan Reddy.
