Nine people were killed in six districts of Bihar on July 6 after they were hit by lightning which happened within a span of 24 hours.
They told me that the incidents of lightening had been recorded in the district of Jehanabad, Madhepura East Champaran, Rohtas and Saran Supaul.
After nine people died from being struck by lightning, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that he was deeply saddened and would pay ₹4 lakh each to the relatives of victims as exgratia.
These figures were confirmed by a statement released by the CMO on July 6th, stating that three deaths occurred in Jehanabad followed by two in Madhepura, one each for East Champaran, Rohtas, and Saran Supaul.
He appealed to everyone to heed advice given out by Disaster Management Department.
