The body of a night watchman was found bound and battered in a Paris hotel after an attempt to steal a safe filled with cash, a police source said Saturday.
At about 11.30p.m (9:30 GMT) yesterday, policemen were called to a street in the city’s 11th district when it was discovered by the police source that there had been abandoned safe.
Inside a nearby hotel, they found the body of the night watchman “lying on his bed, tied up and with multiple bruises,” the source added.
According to one witness, four men dressed in balaclavas began trying to load the safe into their vehicle at approximately 9.30 p.m., but gave up and fled away in it instead.
“The safe contained all of the revenue generated by the hotel for that month,” says the police source.
Ten days before his death, several people who claimed to be delivery workers attacked him while he tried stealing safe from them”, revealed a policeman.
The van used by this group of culprits was found abandoned with its engine still running at busy Place de la Nation roundabout which is located at southeast part of Paris
Four individuals jumped out of the van as it stopped, and rushed into subway station; another woman stated this fact”
Suspected murder, theft and illegal confinement are being investigated by Paris prosecutors as per AFP report.
“An investigation has begun into finding details surrounding this person’s death,” they noted.
