A couple of days ago, Parami News reported that Akshay Kumar has signed up for a remake of Tirangaa (1993), which starred Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. According to the report, NH Studioz producer Narendra Hirawat will produce the movie. We tried calling and texting him to get his side of the story then but he was not available for comment. Now, in an exclusive statement to Parami News, Narendra Hirawat speaks out on this matter.
EXCLUSIVE: Narendra Hirawat breaks silence on Tirangaa remake reports: “We are indeed producing a film with Akshay Kumar but it is not a remake of any film”.
The veteran producer was quoted as saying in the report that they have indeed signed Akshay kumar for this film however he says it is not a remake of Tirangaa or any other films since it has an original script. His statement read, “In last few days there were some media reports stating that we are making a remake of movie Tirangaa with Shri Akshay Kumar in lead. We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue.” However, we do have one coming up with Shri Akshay Kumar in lead but we would like to stress it’s NOT remaking any film. It’s an absolutely new and original script. Soon there will be official announcement regarding the same.”
Narendra Hirawat’s recent release was Neeraj Pandey’s love saga Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha featuring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee M Manjrekar. However; Akshay Kumar was last seen in Sarfira which was an inspirational biopic about him. Khel Khel Mein would release on Thursday August 15th.
