From 1 am to 7 am on July 7, Mumbai witnessed a rainfall of over 300 mm in little pockets. There were heavy rains in some areas like the low lying parts that led to water logging and disruption to suburban train services.
Furthermore the official from BMC stated “We are also expecting heavy rain today. To minimize inconvenience caused to students, there will be no first session classes in all BMC, Government and Private schools and colleges in Mumbai (BMC area).”
However, according to BMC another official this decision for next session will be made after the situation is reviewed.
