Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos starring Mona Singh produced by Aamir Khan expected to release during Diwali.
It’s the time of the year again when the exhibition industry is afraid of a three-way clash on 15th August, where Stree 2, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein are all scheduled to hit the cinemas. The other big fight that people will talk about is between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again during Diwali. In case recent reports are anything to go by, then an Aamir Khan Productions film might also test its luck at the box-office during Deepavali.
According to Mid-Day report, there is a film with Mona Singh as a lead actress that has been produced by Aamir Khan for release during Diwali. The publication article says it’s untitled but Parami News has learned that it is titled Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos. Alongside Mona Singh, it also features Mithila Palkar and Sharib Hashmi in supporting roles. It was directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri collaborated with him on its script writing too. Additionally, Vir himself starred in it as per reports from insiders within the production team. The shoot of the film just concluded recently.
This movie has been described in Mid-Day as featuring Mona Singh playing a gangster which can be considered similar to Delhi Belly (2011) genre-produced ones like those made under Aamir Khan’s supervision before. In this movie called Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos, she gets reunited with Aamir after 3 Idiots (2009) and Laal Singh Chaddha (2022). While he acted in both films mentioned above, he played not only an actor here but also worked as a producer.
In addition to Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos, there is another film expected from Aamir Khan this year – Sitaare Zameen Par. It’s a movie where he plays the lead role and is directed by R S Prasanna known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017). The 2018 Spanish film Campeones has been officially remade in Hindi as it also stars Genelia Deshmukh. And Darsheel Safary also rekindles his partnership with Aamir Khan who was his co-actor in Taare Zameen Par (2007).
Coming back to Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos, it was the same film that had Imran Khan making a comeback in movies. However, the actor himself denied being part of the cast.
Vir Das’ dream project for years had been Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos. In one of his interviews with GQ magazine in 2018, he stated, “It’s going to be in Austin Powers/Johnny English action comedy territory; an unexplored genre for Indian cinema.”
