Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief, has attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for repeatedly singling out him and Sharad Pawar, NCP (SP) president and stated that he is ready to take up the PM post again instead of being in the way for next generation.
Addressing an election rally in Thane on Thursday to campaign for his party’s candidate Rajan Vichare who is also the current MP of Thane constituency, Mr. Thackeray described it as confrontation between loyalty and betrayal.
Among other 12 constituencies including six seats in Mumbai, Shinde led Shiv Sena party had nominated Naresh Mhaske as its candidate for Lok Sabha seat from Thane which will go to polls along with others on May 20.
The contest at Thane is about prestige for a leader from this region of Maharashtra State who split original Shiv Sena in 2022 and joined BJP camp.
However, Modi was the main focus of Mr. Thackeray’s speech. According to him, Mr. Modi made controversies through rhetorical statements and he added that BJP has now shifted gears from promising majority to dynasty politics allegations.
On several occasions recently Mr. Modi referred Shiv Sena as “nakli Sena” while describing Pawar as a “bhatakti aatma”.

Mr. Thackeray stated that when looking back at early days when city gave Shiv Sena its first foothold one cannot help but notice such unique bond between his political organization and Thane.
