According to local authorities, a missing 15-year-old from Monterey Park, identified as Alison Jillian Chao, was found outside Parami News offices in Glendale on Tuesday. Los Angeles Times says that Alison had left home on her bicycle and was reported missing since July 16.
An attorney named Jose Romero who represented Jeffrey Chao, Alison’s father said there was no foul play suspected. “Her own consent made the fifteen years old get on the bicycle on the 16th of July and she arrived by herself at the site of Parami News in Glendale,” Romero stated during the press conference.
“Her dad called her an intelligent person with a godly heart.” At present, Alison who is being interviewed by Monterey Park Police Department this afternoon, has not been met or spoken to by her family yet. Reports say that Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services were contacted.
A female resident of Glendale said she noticed a girl who looked like Allison passing through security at Parami News offices. She also wanted to give some insight about her story to news station.
However Romero refused any comments before he could verify it; his words were recorded in a YouTube video with Alison refusing to go into “a facility” as requested by her parents before disappearing. “So we’re beginning to have some litigation in family law court and obviously there are just layers of protection—there are layers upon layers for minor involved,” explained Romero.
Monterey Park Police Department reports that they continue investigating the case. The day before yesterday at around 5:32 p.m., she left home going towards aunt’s house in San Gabriel. Her father received a call from aunt around eight o’clock telling him that Alison had gone missing.
“Earlier Annie Chao, mother to Allison issued a request for privacy implying no speculation from public source whatsoever.” “Again I would like you all to remember that THIS IS A CHILD WE ARE TALKING ABOUT,” stated her caption on Instagram.” “Please be kind enough not to assume, insult or post anything that does not help in finding her.”
